Jokes and Insolvency

Insolvency is not normally an issue which gives rise to much mirth. This blog entry is designed to rebut that perception. Here follow a number of insolvency themed jokes which I have stolen from Mr Bob Monkhouse's legendary joke book and Tommy Cooper (pictured). Not really, I made them up:

Joke One
Q: What do you call an impecunious cat?
A: Paw purr

Joke Two
A liquidator and a Giraffe walk into a bar. The Giraffe takes the opportunity to have a sleep.

The bar man says, "what is that lying there?" The liquidator says, "Don't be silly, it is a Giraffe."

Joke Three
The Liberal Democrat's Insolvency Proposals - only joking Dr Cable!

Joke Four
Q:How many insolvency lawyers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: As many as we can get away with

Joke Five
An Englishman, an Irishman and a Liquidator walk into a bar. The Liquidator stops and says, "wait I think I am in the wrong joke."

And from elsewhere:

Joke Five
Q: What's an insolvency practitioner?
A: Someone who arrives after the battle and bayonets all the wounded. (

I can recommend highly on YouTube "Clean Comedy from Tim Clue - Debt". Apart from a very funny routine with debt jokes, it is actually an accurate portrayal of a debtor at his limit. I have used this to teach staff about who is on the end of the phone.
